For over 30 years, our parishioners have provided Christmas presents to families in need within our own parish, the Columbus Diocese, and throughout the Reynoldsburg, Pataskala and Vinton County areas. Gifts are selected on a weekend in late November and returned in early December for delivery to recipients.

This program, operated under the auspices of Knights of Columbus #5253, provides needed school supplies to students in Vinton County, Ohio’s smallest and most impoverished county. Donations of supplies are collected on the final two weekends of July. Volunteers collate and pack kits of basic school supplies, which are delivered to the St. Francis Center by the Knights on the following day. All ages are welcome to help pack school supply kits, especially families and groups performing service together.

Help to clean and prepare our worship space for the special Holy Days of Easter and Christmas. Decorators help prepare and display the many Easter lilies and Christmas poinsettias donated by our parishioners for these feasts, as well as set up additional displays to enhance our worship experience during these special seasons. We typically clean and decorate the day before Christmas Eve and the morning of Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday, but time is dependent on the flower delivery. No meetings are held for this ministry.

Garden Angels work in the landscape beds near the rectory, church courtyard, school entrance, and preschool during the growing season of May-October. They help to weed the beds, water flowers and plants if rain is scarce, trim hedges and shrubs and prepare the beds for mulch in May. This does not involve heavy gardening, landscaping or grass mowing. There is no fixed schedule. Volunteers may work at a time that is convenient for them, but please bring your own garden tools to use. This is an excellent ongoing activity for school service.

This ministry is devoted to feeding the hungry in our community by donating food to stock the shelves of the local Reynoldsburg Helping Hands Food Pantry, 7356 E. Main Street. We contact the pantry monthly to determine their needs, then inform our parishioners via the bulletin and a poster located in the vestibule of the church. At the month's end, we collect and consolidate donations and deliver them to the pantry. Donations are collected in the large bin located in the vestibule.

Our ministry is an expansion of the Knitting and Crocheting Ministry of St. Matthew Church (Gahanna) which began in 2009. We provide handmade items — including hats and scarves for all ages, baby blankets, and lap blankets —to those in need within the Diocese of Columbus and outlying counties. This ministry is open to all, including school-age children 9-12 with parental or adult supervision. All skill levels are welcome; we teach the basics of knit and crochet for beginners and provide hooks, needles, and yarn for your project. Our ministry meets every second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. or you may work at home on projects. We gratefully accept these items for donation and will share them with our group.

The greatest among you will be the one who serves the rest. — This volunteer organization supports the needs of those during crises such as a family death or serious illness. If the family wishes, It provides a meal following a funeral. Matthew 23:11 also helps in other ways when needed, such as providing transportation or house sitting. Please contact the rectory at 614-866-2859 if you need assistance from Matthew 23:11. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the parish office.
This volunteer program seeks to serve and support our soldier's abroad, their families at home, and our local veterans. Military Outreach has an annual collection to organize, collect, collate and ship items to military family members deployed overseas and to an “adopted” unit. Packages are shipped out by volunteers year round, after the spring drive, and in November through the Christmas Care Package program. The Military Outreach Program has worked in partnership with the local VFW Post 9473, Girl Scout troops, and the St. Pius X Parish School of Religion (PSR). We welcome any volunteer or organization interested in becoming a part of this program.

Volunteers age 18 and over are needed during our sponsored drives as canteen workers or to assist in calling parish blood donors in advance of the drive to set and establish our schedule. Volunteers may call anytime from their home up to ten days prior to the blood drive. For more information about volunteering or to schedule an appointment to give blood, please contact our coordinator.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is an international Catholic organization of laypersons founded by Frederic Ozanam in 1833. Its primary mission is to engage in person-to-person service to those in need regardless of religious denomination. Vincentians seek personal holiness through works of charity. SVDP volunteers at St. Pius X collect and distribute monthly donations of funds and items to those in our area. SVDP is also responsible for managing the clothing drop box located at the rear of the school. For information on becoming a member, please contact us.

Wondrous Works is a group of handy parishioners who share their time and talent to help with a wide range of repairs to our parish facilities. As fix-up projects arise, we contact our team and try to give about one week's notice. Because of work schedules, we typically gather for work from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Basic tool skills are needed. Carpentry skills are a plus, but not required. We repair pews, fix doors, build benches, complete minor plumbing projects, and try to help our parish with any small project possible. Bring your tools!
