This support and healing ministry for widows and widowers offers a regular opportunity for those who have lost a spouse through death to gather in a safe and loving environment and to share their grief journey through discussion and prayer. Anyone who has lost a spouse may attend a monthly meeting with no RSVP required. This group meets on the third Tuesday of every month from 6:30-8:00 PM in the Bride's Room of the church.
As a volunteer in this outreach ministry, you visit with parishioners who are ill, homebound, or in a nursing home and bring them Holy Communion each week. Volunteers must be confirmed Catholics who are commissioned Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and who have reliable transportation. We visit homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes within the geographic boundaries of our parish. A visit lasts approximately 30 minutes.
If you are a parishioner of St. Pius X who is hospitalized, homebound, or in a nursing home and you would like to receive Holy Communion, please contact us. Patient privacy laws prevent us from being notified when a parishioner is admitted to a health or long-term care facility. To request Holy Communion or to learn more about volunteering, please contact the parish office.
The Parish Mission is an annual event taking place near or during Lent. The mission runs for 3-4 consecutive evenings and gives parishioners the opportunity to reflect on their relationship with God. National and/or local presenters conduct the mission and fellowship follows each evening presentation. Volunteers who are are 18 and over are needed to help with the Parish Mission by setting up, tearing down, and coordinating and/or donating snacks and refreshments for evening fellowship. For more information about our Parish Mission or if you would like to help as a volunteer during the next event, please contact the parish office.
