Faith Sharing Groups

     Faith Sharing groups are small communities of parishioners that meet regularly in order to share their faith stories by reflecting on weekend scripture readings or other relevant material. In the small groups, parishioners have the opportunity to get to know one another better, socialize, feel connected to the parish, and discover how God has been working in each others' lives.

Knights of Columbus Council 5253

     The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic, family, fraternal service organization with over 1½ million members throughout the world. The Order locally has served St. Pius X Parish for over thirty two years. This group of Catholic men has served the parish and contributed generously to many programs benefiting all ages in our community, including participation and leadership in governmental functions and a myriad of similar social, fraternal and civic activities. Meetings take place the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 7pm in the rectory basement.

Knights of Columbus Ladies

     The Knights of Columbus Ladies is an organization that promotes mutual understanding and common interest among its members and the Knights of Columbus Council #5253. This organization is open to all women (over 18 years of age) who are interested in the welfare of the Knights of Columbus.

Matthew 23:11 Club

     The Matthew 23:11 Club : "The greatest among you will be the one who serves the rest," is a group organized to lend support and a helping hand during a time of crisis, such as a family death or serious illness. The group provides a meal after the funeral if the family desires. Members also help in other ways as needed, e.g. transportation, house sitting, etc.

Parish Council

     Parish Council is composed of the pastor and appointed representatives of the parish whose primary function is to discern the present and future needs of St. Pius X Parish and to direct responsibly the resources at hand to the fulfillment of those needs. Senior Fellowship Club

     The object of the Club is to meet the needs of older Catholic adults for friendship and usefulness to their parish, to keep older Catholic adults informed on matters of parish affairs. Membership is open to any Catholic who is a member of St. Pius X Parish or Seton Parish, is over the age of 55 and pays yearly dues to the Club. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 1:00 PM, in the Parish Activity Center.

Spiritual Life Committee

     The Spiritual Life Committee is dedicated to the planning and coordination of spiritual renewal and enrichment programs for the entire parish with an emphasis on the Liturgical seasons.

St. Vincent de Paul

     The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic organization of lay persons founded by Blessed Fredric Ozanam in 1833. The primary mission is to engage in a person-to-person service to those in need regardless of religious denomination.

Adult Scripture Study/Updating/Prayer Group

     Adult Scripture Study and updating sessions are from September to May in series of consecutive weekly sessions. The daytime sessions are held on Thursday mornings for specified weeks. The evening classes are on Mondays for specified weeks. Other updating classes are offered as listed in the bulletin.

Athletic Programs

     Beginning in August, the parish sponsors a variety of athletic activities for children in grades 4 through 8. They are volleyball for both boys and girls, cheerleading, football, basketball, soccer, softball, baseball and track.

Boy, Girl and Cub Scouts
     Scouting for boys is very active at St. Pius X. The Boy Scout troop and Cub Scout Pack are supported by the Father Hohman Knights of Columbus, Council #5253. Through scouting, boys, their families, and leaders work together to achieve goals to build moral strength and character, develop physical fitness, and become responsible citizens. Boy Scouts in Troop #326 are in grades 6 through 8 and Cub Scouts in Pack #326 are in grades 1 through 5.
     Girl Scout membership is open to all girls in Kindergarten through Daisy Scouts, in 1st through 3rd grade in Brownies, 4th through 7th grade in Juniors, and 8th through 12th in Cadettes. All the St. Pius X troops are registered with The Seal of Ohio Girl Scout Council through the Reynoldsburg Service Unit.

Children's Catechumenate

     The Children's Catechumenate is for those children who have not been baptized, or have been baptized in another denomination; who are in third grade or older and have not received Eucharist. The program begins in October, and the children meet on Thursday evenings from 7:30-8:30 PM. The participants are received into the Church at the Easter Vigil.

     St. Pius X Children's Center is open year-round, and provides a variety of half day preschool options for children ages 3-6. It is licensed by the Ohio Department of Education. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The staff consists of dedicated, qualified, degreed teachers who are committed to providing a high quality program for children. St. Pius X Children's Center is dedicated to the belief that young children learn through creative play, actively exploring, and manipulating their environment. We seek to provide each child with the skills necessary to succeed in school.

     Saint Pius X School integrates Catholic truths and values throughout the daily curriculum. Each child is encouraged to grow and develop spiritually, intellectually, physically and emotionally in a loving and caring environment. The staff and faculty are committed to teaching respect for God, for others and for self.
     Students in grades K-8 are challenged with a well-balanced curriculum, which includes daily religion classes taught by certified teachers. Religious instruction includes Masses, sacramental preparation, daily prayer, liturgical celebrations and service projects.

Latchkey

The St. Pius X Latchkey program offers after school child care to all St. Pius X students. The program offers a safe environment while providing its participants with a variety of activities. It is licensed by the Ohio Department of Education. The Latchkey program is open on all school days, from 2:30 to 6:00 p.m.

Liturgy of the Word With Children

     In order to make the word of God more accessible to our children, the Liturgy of the Word adapted for children, will be celebrated during the 10:15 a.m. and 12:00 noon Masses on Sundays September through May. This program is open to all children, age four to fourth grade.

Ministry to Sick and Shut-ins

     This ministry is an out-reach to members of the parish who are ill, home-bound or in nursing homes, and wish to receive the sacraments while they recuperate. A call from the sick person or their family to the rectory or the Pastoral Ministry office, (number listed above), notifies us of your desire and need.

Parish Festival
     The St. Pius X Festival is an annual event which takes place in August. Besides being a significant fundraiser for the parish, the Festival is a community building experience. Many volunteers are needed at different times during the year to plan the Festival and to work during the Festival weekend. Planning begins in late winter/early spring.

Parish Pre Cana

     As part of their marriage preparation, engaged couples spend a day with each other and with a team of married couples from the parish to discuss important topics. This a home-based program that is offered three times a year. Engaged couples register for the Pre Cana Day after meeting with one of the priests. Married couples are welcome to be a part of the Pre Cana Programs.

     Religion classes are held for children in grades Kindergarten through eight, Sunday evenings from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. in the St. Pius school building, September to May. Instructions for children with special educational needs and for those who are hearing impaired is offered on a per child basis, according to staffing availability. Our philosophy and praxis of religious education is centered around a partnership with parents in the Christian formation of their children. We assist our families in preparing their children for celebration of the sacraments. We offer informational sessions for parents of PSR and St. Pius elementary school children.

R.C.I.A.

     The R.C.I.A. is the process through which adults become members of the Catholic Church. The process begins in the fall. Meetings are held weekly on Thursday evenings, at 7:00 p.m. The participants are received into the Church at the Easter Vigil.
The R.C.I.A. is open to anyone who cares to inquire into the Catholic Faith, as well as adult Catholics who have not received Confirmation/Eucharist in the Catholic Church. Parishioners may serve as companions (sponsors) to those who are in the R.C.I.A., and the Children's Catechumenate.

     The Office of Youth Ministry at St. Pius X Parish provides programs and resources to assist high school aged parishioners to grow and mature in their faith, understanding and love of God. Through a variety of fun activities, youth are presented with opportunities to participate in service work in the parish and community, achieve leadership training and, of course, participate in worship experiences. Membership is open..."just show up"!
