The Parish Mission is an annual event taking place near or during Lent. The mission runs for 3-4 consecutive evenings and gives parishioners the opportunity to reflect on their relationship with God. National and/or local presenters conduct the mission. Fellowship follows each evening presentation. For more information about our Parish Mission or if you would like to help as a volunteer during the event, please contact Leah Kelly by phone or email.

How do we anticipate Lent? Is it a time of gloom of a period of grace? During our Parish Mission on March 4-6, 2018, we'll explore these questions through the lens of three virtues: faith, hope, and love. Our mission director is Father Richard Fragomeni, Professor of Liturgy and Teaching and Chair of the Department of Word and Worship at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago.
- SUNDAY, MARCH 4 - FAITH AND FAMILY
Our Parish Mission begins with a family potluck dinner in the school cafeteria at 5:30 PM followed by our mission at 7:00 PM in the church. On this first night, Father will address Lent as a time to build our faith in the paschal mystery through family prayer and activity. We receive God’s grace when we spend quality time with our families. Lent is a grace-filled time to set family goals of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
- MONDAY, MARCH 5 - HOPE FOR THE JOURNEY
The six-week period of Lent is a journey of hope to receive the love of Christ through his suffering, death, and resurrection. It is not a time of gloom but a time to wait with joyful hope for the grace that comes from the paschal mystery. Your Lenten journey can be a joy-filled experience of the presence of Christ with you through faith, hope, and love.
- TUESDAY, MARCH 6 - LOVE AND SACRIFICE
Our third and final night of the mission will seek to transform us by the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ in laying down his life for us to free us from sin and death. We will also look at this Lenten journey as an opportunity to love others more fully and to offer sacrifice and prayer as our Lenten commitment.
MORNING SESSIONS ON MARCH 5 & 6
Following Mass at 9:30 AM in the PAC Room on Monday, March 5 and Tuesday, March 6, Father Fragomeni will conduct two additional sessions that will explore the Pope's encyclical, Laudato Si'. Come, join Father Richard to explore our role in the preservation of the environment.
