Pastoral ministries help care for The Body of Christ. They assist the pastor in shepherding his flock, particularly those who are sick or homebound. Pastoral ministries strengthen the soul, encourage, give comfort and provide guidance. They assist participants to grow in holiness.

Adult Scripture Study

Adult Scripture Study is designed to build faith, to create prayer experiences with the scripture, and to relate scripture—both Old and New Testament—to our current life situations. Our study is open to new participants. Sessions are usually held throughout the year over consecutive weeks.  For more information about scripture study and to learn about its current schedule, please contact our pastoral minister.

Ministry to the Sick & Homebound

As a volunteer in this outreach ministry, you visit with parishioners who are ill, homebound, or in a nursing home and bring them Holy Communion each week. Volunteers must be confirmed Catholics who are commissioned Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and who have reliable transportation. We visit homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes within the geographic boundaries of our parish. A visit lasts approximately 30 minutes. If you are a parishioner of St. Pius X who is hospitalized, homebound, or in a nursing home and you would like to receive Holy Communion, please contact us. Patient privacy laws prevent us from being notified when a parishioner is admitted to a health or long-term care facility.  Please contact our pastoral minister if you would like more information about volunteering or if you wish to receive Holy Communion through one of our visits.

St. Pius X Vocation Prayer

In every age Lord, you raise up women and men who are strong in their faith and bold in their actions to give witness to the Gospel.

Fill St. Pius with Your Spirit and give us a burning desire to make a difference in our world because of our love for You.

Bless our Church with holy and courageous priests, deacons, religious sisters and brothers, devoted married couples, dedicated single men and women and enthusiastic youth.

We ask in Jesus' name.
Amen.
