ST. PIUS X GIRL SCOUTS: 2017 BISHOP'S PARISH
The Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry (OYYAM, Diocese of Columbus), through a subcommittee for Girl Scouting of the Diocesan Catholic Committee for Scouting, has selected St. Pius X as the 2017 Bishop’s Parish. The committee was very impressed with the level of activities in scouting and the service work done by the girls in St. Pius X, as well as the number of Catholic activities provided. Girls from our parish will be invited to process into the awards ceremony for Scout Day with the Bishop on January 28, 2018, at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E Dublin Granville Rd, New Albany. The event starts at 3:00 PM. Please plan to attend and support our scouts.

PARISHIONER TOM VOLLMER
St. Pius X parishioner Tom Vollmer has been named the 2018 “Catholic Man of the Year” for the Diocese of Columbus! The annual award is given to a man in the Columbus Diocese who goes above and beyond for his parish, his faith, the Catholic Church, the Diocese of Columbus and his community. The award recognizes a Catholic man who is faithful to the Church and truly puts his faith into action daily by serving his family, parish and community. Tom’s activities and ministries are too numerous to list but include the Knights of Columbus Council 5253, That Man is You, Gospel Road, Adoration Team, Divine Mercy Prayer Group and the Ronald McDonald House at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Tom will be presented with his award by Bishop Frederick Campbell at a luncheon on Friday, February 2 at 12:30 PM at St. Patrick’s Church, 280 N. Grant Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. Tickets are $10.00 per person, payable at the door and do not require a reservation. All are welcome and encouraged to attend the luncheon award ceremony.
