Rectory, Administrative & Pastoral News

EARLY BULLETIN DEADLINE - Due to the Memorial Day holiday, our June 3, 2018 bulletin will be submitted on Thursday, May 24. All articles for this bulletin must be submitted to the parish office by Monday, May 21 (the same date as the May 27 bulletin). Please specify what bulletin you want your article in.

CONGRATULATIONS MONSIGNOR PATRICK GAUGHAN - On May 25, Msgr. Patrick Gaughan will be celebrating his 50th Anniversary to the priesthood. Please join us on Sunday, May 27, 2018, after the 10:15 a.m. Mass for a small reception in the cafeteria to congratulate him on his Golden Jubilee and for assisting us at St. Pius X.

PARISHIONER DONNA NESBITT is collecting new or gently used children’s books for the YMCA family shelter. Three thousand children in Franklin County experience homelessness each year. A book can provide comfort during a difficult time and help with literacy development. Please call 614-506-4109 if you have books that you would like to donate. She will be taking donations on an ongoing basis to keep the shelves stocked.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN UPDATE - The new build continues to progress without issue. The stained glass windows for the new build are being refurbished and cleaned by Henningers in Cleveland, Ohio. We have reviewed how we want these finished and completed. These will be a fantastic addition to our new buildings. Stay tuned. Please turn in your Phase II pledge forms by May 31. This will save extensive time with our Campaign Phone Committee who will be calling everyone who has not yet replied. If you need another pledge form, they are located in the back of the church at the Capital Campaign area. Please put your forms in an envelope and drop this in the offertory or mail to the rectory.

BISHOP’S ANNUAL APPEAL - If you haven’t contributed to the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, it is not too late to do so. Please use an envelope located in the pews or on the bookcase to complete your pledge. Remember, no amount is too small!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sing in the choirs? We are done with Easter and this is a great time to “try-in” and see what choir is all about! Please call John Pottkotter, Music Director, at 614-309-3152 or email to get the details. These choirs take the summer off so you can join for the remaining weeks only. Establish your friendships and pray with our groups as we enhance the liturgies. The need is great for new members as we cannot wait. Men are particularly needed.

INTRODUCING WALKING WITH PURPOSE WOMEN’S CATHOLIC BIBLE STUDY - Do you desire to grow in your Catholic faith? Would you like to connect with other women in our parish community? Are you searching for something more in your life? We invite you to consider joining Walking with Purpose at St. Pius X. Weekly group sessions are starting on June 20, 2018, at 7:00 PM in the cafeteria. Living in the Father’s Love, a six-week study of God the Father, reveals how deeply relevant the Gospels are to our relationships, both with God and those we love. No previous Bible study experience is necessary; come as you are as we discover just how much God loves us. Walking with Purpose is a women’s Catholic Bible study that aims to bring women to a closer relationship with Christ. Personal study and small group discussions each week link our everyday challenges with the solutions given to us through the teachings of Christ and the Catholic Church. Please join us on June 20, 2018, for our first summer Connect Coffee! Bring a friend to see what Walking with Purpose is all about. To register or if you have questions, please email Cyndi Williams at or call 614-860-9587.
